A carpet has just tried to talk to Matthew, and he is freaking out. A recently widowed dad with shaky mental health at the best of times, he really doesn’t need this. When he meets foulmouthed scientist Jen, and nervy young spy Charlie, he finds he’s not the only one spooked by chatty supernatural faces in everyday objects.
 
Already out of their depth, they are recruited by British Intelligence for a tech project at GCHQ, and are dragged into a world of espionage, organised crime, and a shadowy religious sect. To cap it off, they discover that together they are the bridge between our world and the supernatural – apparently the key to averting an interdimensional crisis. No pressure then...
